Hey.
I hope you’re enjoying what we’re putting together each week for ATL Grind.
We’re still figuring a lot of things out on the back end, systems and processes and all that. Hoping we’ll get a lot of that streamlined in the next couple weeks.
And once we do, my goal is to start hosting in person events in Atlanta:
AI trainings for beginners
Networking coffee chats and events
Industry specific events
And really anything else you’re all looking for.
Take this poll and let me know, so I can work on prioritizing which events we’ll do first. Or feel free to reply to this email, it goes directly to me. Appreciate you all for being with me at the beginning of this journey.
-Andrew Sharpe

What type of in-person events do you want us to put on in February?

Georgia Tech Grads Close $25M Series A: Greptile is Preventing 180K+ Bugs Per Month

Greptile is making code review actually useful.
The Story: Three Georgia Tech alumni, Daksh Gupta, Soohoon Choi, and Vaishant Kameswaran, built an AI agent that reads your codebase like an expert engineer. Last month alone, their platform reviewed 500 million lines of code for companies like Brex, Substack, PostHog, and Bilt, catching 180,000+ critical bugs before they hit production.
The Funding: Series A led by Benchmark (Eric Vishria). Total raise: $25 million. Valuation: $180M. Previous seed was $4M from Initialized Capital after they went through Y Combinator (Winter 2024).
Why It Matters: Every company that scales loses engineering velocity to code review. Greptile's v3 catches 3x more critical bugs than before, learns your team's coding standards, auto-detects AI config files, and integrates with Jira and Notion. For a 50-person engineering team, that's $500K+ in wasted cycles per year (which Greptile just solved).
The Georgia Tech Advantage: All three founders credit CREATE-X (Georgia Tech's startup program) for shaping their entrepreneurial thinking. Gupta told the Georgia CEO: "Like Georgia Tech, Y Combinator's value comes from being surrounded by ambitious people, gaining credibility, and having smart people believe in you before you fully believe in yourself." That combination compounds fast.
Bottom Line: Atlanta has more Y Combinator exits than most realize. Greptile is the next one on the board.

St. Albans Sporting Club Opens in Buckhead This Fall: Private Club for the Hunting, Fishing & Adventure Set

Buckhead's first members-only club for outdoor sports enthusiasts.
The Story: St. Albans Sporting Club opens this fall in Buckhead's Medici building. It's the first city-based sporting club in the U.S. built for hunters and anglers. Fine dining, curated travel to premier hunting and fishing destinations, and a bar full of people who actually use their Patagonia gear.
The Partners: The Indigo Road Hospitality Group (O-Ku, Oak Steakhouse) is running food and beverage. Ai3 designed the interiors. The food will be legitimately good.
Why This Matters: Buckhead's old-money country club model (Capital City, Cherokee, Peachtree Golf Club) is being challenged. St. Albans is betting Atlanta's wealthiest residents want experiential exclusivity over another golf membership. If you're selling premium outdoor gear, luxury travel, conservation brands, or land/ranch real estate, this is your exact demographic in one building.
The Comp: Soho House meets Orvis. Think curated Montana fly-fishing trips, Scotland grouse hunts, and Patagonia expeditions, organized for people who close deals during the week and disappear into the wilderness on weekends.
